  1. Your site made me smile. I remember Dad hunched over his typewriter, late into the night, writing those scripts for Hi.

You're work on the show was exceptional as well!

Thank you very much for your comments. This show was a staple of my early teen years and you and your dad brought me many hours of entertainment.

  3. This is great. Thanks for the work!
I wonder if Ms. Dann would know about the things I have noticed in her Dad's scripts where he uses a few names often. The main ones I'm curious about are the names 'Melisande' and 'Chappy'. Melisande isn't that common (at least I have not heard of it too often), and I'm just curious if it's just a name he particularly likes or if it's someone special in his life. Just wondering.
His scripts are among the best in the series, and I'm a fan. I agree that her works are great as well.
Thanks again, Brian. And thanks ahead of time if Ms. Dann answers.

Perhaps Dann's use of that name may be in reference to the eponymous character in "Pelléas et Mélisande", a play by Maurice Maeterlinck, adapted into an opera by Claude Debussy.

(Wikipedia notes that aspects of Maeterlinck's Mélisande were apparently inspired by a mythical figure named Melusine.)
